I just installed Ubuntu 10.04 onto my brand new pc hoping to get some basic stuff up and running so i could test out my hardware. Hoping I would be able to run programs at a faster pace i ignored the advanced user warning and installed the 64 bit version.

Now that i got to explore around the OS and this forum im finding out that i cant run WINE(or can i?) and many other things on Ubuntu 64.

So now my problem is that i have no clue how to downgrade to 32 bit. I have 32bit installed on a bootable flash drive but i dont know how to erase my hdd completely to replace it with the downgraded version. Any help would be awesome.

Thanks

You need to reinstall Ubuntu with a 32 bit ISO image burned to a CD or bootable flash drive.

You can run wine just fine on 64 bit, but yea, if you want to switch you have to reinstall.

Then what?

When i boot with USB FDD it just runs the regular Ubuntu.

Then nothing; if you install with the 32 bit install disk then you will be running 32 bit.
