Need Help installing 10.04 onto HP DV6-2190us

I need help installing 10.04 onto my HPdv6-2190us laptop.

I have tried using unetbootin to install via usb and get "Can't mount cd-rom device" error.

When i try to install via cd i get a "Can't mount file system" error

I also have followed the following tutorial,

from member dino99 without success.

Any input or advice anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Download it from here (http://releases.ubuntu.com/10.04/), and check the md5sum before burning onto a CD.

thanks..do u suggest the alternate install or the desktop version?

getting the alternate install but i am currently out of blanks. Will burn and test out tomorrow.

I am still getting the same errors. I tried both alternate and desktop versions.

thank you so much. desktop install works like a charm. just need wireless and graphic drivers to be 100%
