Hello all
I have a weird problem. I am trying to install Ubuntu 10.04 64bit, by using the "normal" CD installation, and it NEVER goes into the installation guide GUI. I mean, it loads for a few minutes, it shows a few symbols at the bottom. then it shows the Ubuntu logo for maybe a minute and then it simply shows a black screen, and stops completely!

I have installed many Ubuntu version before, (starting with 7.10) and I have faced some incompatibilities with video cards before. With this current version, 10.04, I am using an MSI ATI RADEON 5760. I am betting my money that this is what causes the problem.

But how can I overcome it?
Thanks in advance

Sorry, I meant RADEON 5670 :)

It happened to me once, but I am sorry I couldn't remember much.

It seems like
- get a terminal (Ctrl + Alt + T ? / Alt + F1 ?)
- sudo ubiquity

I hope others to join in to help you.

Hello trexgrec. Did you find a solution to your problem?? I have exactly the same problem.
I also managed to install through windows installer. But when I try to boot it from the disc it has the same problem also in safe mode.
