Hi, I would like to know if I can install Ubuntu on my laptop. The reason I ask is because I only have 310 mb on it. So yeah can I?

Are you talking RAM or hard disk space?

I suspect that either way you might be pushing your luck a little bit. Some guidelines can be found here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/SystemRequirements

My previous laptop had only 222Mb of RAM available. I could run Ubuntu 7.04 on it, but with more recent releases, it was slow at times.

A lightweight version such as xubuntu or lubuntu might be worth checking.

Hmmmmm.... if it's a hard drive with only megabytes available it will be a tight squeeze, and doing a "dual boot" is unlikely to work. Ubuntu and its derivatives usually require free space that's measured in gigabytes. Something like Puppy Linux (http://puppylinux.org) might be a better choice, but I'm not sure on its requirements.

Good luck!

I do not want to dual boot. Does that mean it can be done?
