Movie player

My Movie player is having a problem.As soon as i try to play any movie .It automatically crashes down.I am not able to see a single movie on it.I have tried to uninstall and reinstalled it but the problem still persist.
Please tell me the possible solution ASAP.Any help will be highly appreciated .

What is the problematic software? Try using a different player and try running the current one from a terminal to see any error output.
Is this a new or ongoing problem? Still on jaunty?
