install problem

I had installed Ubuntu on my laptop in the Xp partition
and it worked beautiful.
I made a lot of errors and so I uninstalled it.
I have been trying to install again from cd. It does not tell me
use the xp section again. When I try to partition to a drive
it says no root found.

If you uninstalled does that mean you have no operating system on drive presently?
If so choose use whole drive at install.
Or did you use the WUBI install which puts it in a folder in Windows. If so just put disk in and select WUBI install again.
WUBI will be in folder right next to USERS in C: drive if still there open and choose to uninstall. If not there reinstall using Wubi on disk.
