Hi,

I have Ubuntu 10.04 on my laptop.

For arguments sake - if I wanted to reinstall Windows Vista over the top of Ubuntu 10.04, do I just install Vista normally, as if I was reformatting the hard drive?

Or are there any particular steps to take?

Many thanks,
Stormsy.

Why not consider dual-booting?

To answer the question: you could probably just insert the Windows CD and tell it to reformat the drive and install.

Windows may not be able to see the ext formated partitions and swap partition. It normally installs to NTFS preformatted partitions or to free space.

Yes it's very simple. Boot off the Vista CD and you'll be asked where you want to install the OS. You get the option of deleting/creating partitions and formatting around there.
