I'm currently testing Kubuntu 10.10 where, apparently, a QT/KDE version of the global menu is installed by default. However, though I know that gnome has this option as well, Gnome Global Menu, GTK apps does not seam to be supported by this menu. I checked the web and found several small articles writing that the global menu in kubuntu should support both QT and GTK apps.

Does anyone know how to get the global menu in Kubuntu 10.10 work with GTK apps?

Hi,
If you are referring to the "Window Menubar" plasma widget (plasma-widget-menubar), I think I have found what you are looking for:
http://skitterman.wordpress.com/2010/07/09/menubar-for-gtk-and-qtkde-apps-on-kubuntu/
According to that link...To support GTK applications it requires an additional package to be installed, and some configuration of files.
Hope this helps.
