How do you put desktop icons on ubuntu 10.4 netbook?
i downloaded gimp 2.6 from the ubuntu app store thing and then the icons didnt come up
please can some one tell me how to do this??

and how do u remove one of the tabs on the left??:guitar:

You may find that gimp is already in the graphics tab, if you go to that, it certainly was there when I installed gimp on my netbook edition of ubuntu. Now if you hover the mouse over that icon in graphics and click on the + sign that appears, the item will also be added to the favourites tab.

To remove a left hand tab I imagine you need to open the menu editor, alacarte, and using that, remove the selection mark from that menu section. I have never tried it in UNR, but it does the trick in a standard gnome menu, so I imagine it will in UNR as well.
