7zip

I have installed 7zip on 9.10 and 10.04 but it never appears on any menus including the main menu . 7zip also doesn't appear as a right click option to open RAR files.

I am able to extract files with RAR from the repository . I have used 7zip on windows for a year and it has a menu icon and a GUI . What am I missing here ? Where if at all should 7zip appear on the main menu ?

There is no GUI specifically for 7-Zip, just the command line tools in package p7zip and related packages. File Roller, the GNOME archviing application uses the command line tools to give you most of the 7-Zip functionality. You will need to use the command line tools directly to use the more esoteric options.

Thanks ! I was wondering why I couldn't find it. I'll l be installing 10.10 in twelve days , so I will give it a try.
