I want to install Xubuntu using Wubi, on an old laptop with 128Mb RAM. Xubuntu claims the alternate CD is required with <192Mb and Wubi won't accept an alternate CD.

Is there a workaround?

I would rather go for Lubuntu and install it next to Windows as a dual-boot.

If you want to experiment with other light distros, here are a few:

I would not install Xubuntu with less than 256mb of RAM, personally.

Also I have not used Wubi before, but my understanding is it installs Xubuntu "inside of" Windows; this is probably not the best choice for performance on old hardware. Better to install it on its own separate partition as a dual boot.

All my opinion of course. :)
