I am planning to install ubuntu desktop to host my blog at home. Since I'm a supper dummy, I have to consider the situations that things frequently getting messed up. So, I think maybe I can do it this way:
1. Install ubuntu desktop as server;
2. Install Xen for hosting virtual ubuntu;
3. Install virtual ubuntu on top of the ubuntu server;
4. Host blog in this virtual ubuntu;
5. If anything goes wrong, delete this virtual ubuntu and install another, no need to disturb my main ubuntu desktop.

Does this idea sound funny, or it's possible? or, is there any other solution?

p.s. I know hosting blog at home is a geek's thingy, not for dummy. But I don't have anything to do with the blog if the hosting service don't allow me to install this or that.
p.p.s. I have several computers running at home, never shut down. So, I think I can host my own blog instead of paying a hosting service.
