Hi. I have tried to download Ubuntu on to my pc. But when I do it black and white stripes appear and it will not go any further. Could some one please tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

Need more info. System specs? Which version of Ubuntu are you trying to install; did you check md5sum? https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM

Sorry. Harassed. All I know about the machine is i do not know much I was trying to install ubuntu 9.10. I am a new starter.
