Hi, I hope this isn't a repeated issue, I haven't been able to find anything that quite fits the problem.

I'm trying to install 10.04.1, all appears to be fine except the partitioner cant read my partition table.
Running the live CD using the graphical tool in System>Administration I can't see the table, however, if I use fdisk -l in a terminal, its all fine. I can mount them and read/write.

If I run gparted in a terminal I get a message telling me

======================
libparted : 2.2
======================
Can't have overlapping partitions.

this is the output from fdisk - l

Disk /dev/sda: 320.1 GB, 320072933376 bytes

Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x0001e1c8

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sda1 * 1 2550 20482843+ 7 HPFS/NTFS

/dev/sda5 6080 38418 259762954+ 83 Linux

Err, Deleted the swap partition, all works now. Just don't know how to delete this thread!

Just mark it as solved. (Under Thread Tools, I believe.)
