View Full Version : [ubuntu] Epson scanner problem with Ubuntu upgrade?

Hi - I have Epson 2480 scanners on my machines. These worked perfectly using Simple Scan after first installing Ubuntu, without my having to do any installation process on them at all. A few weeks ago both suddenly stopped working. The green lights on the scanners dim when Ubuntu loads , as if Ubuntu isn't recognizing them as a valid device any more. Is this possibly related to a recent upgrade?

Thanks for any advice!

I also use iscan for my Epson V300 Photo, and it has stopped working. It was working in Mint LMDE, and now the scanner is not detected. Neither iscan or simplescan detect the scanner in Mint 11 RC. I think something in the updates has changed my system. Reinstalling the current software or newer iscan versions have solved the problem.

I have a V330. Did you install Esci-interpreter-perfection-v330 (from Avasys website) or the equivalent for your scanner? This did the trick for me.
