XP was installed first. I partitioned the drive while installing XP, set at 20GB. I used this as my guide:
http://www.linuxconfig.org/How_to_dual_boot_Windows_XP_and_Ubuntu_Lin
I set swap to 3.5GB (my RAM is 1.5GB)
Ext3 - 10GB
shared - 25GB
My mount locations are exactly like the ones in the guide.
From BIOS to log-in screen, everything is normal; I see my BIOS manufacturer, GBL, and when Ubuntu is chosen, log-in screen. I type my un/pw, and the background turns tan. The mouse doesn't have the circle "loading" symbol, just the pointer, which is movable.
wtf.
