You can be assured that Microsoft really does NOT want to see this AT ALL!

It looks like this hasn't been updated since February? Still looks very interesting, definitely going to give it a spin.

This had been around for a long time and has appeared in other threads. This is not put out by google nor is it the "open source version" of ChromeOS.

That being said, it still might be a great distro, I just think the name is misleading

I doubt MS considers this distro a threat to their business model.

Any citation on that?

Microsoft has more important competitors such as Red Hat to worry about than some other random re-spin/distribution.

Thread title's a bit misleading.

From the link:
Flow is the latest in the line of Hexxeh's hugely popular ChromiumOS builds. Flow is the most exciting version yet, bringing even more hardware support, an auto-updater, webcam support and an improved application menu & directory. All this, requires only a 2GB USB drive (download size is 327MB) I'm retitling the thread.

I'll give it a go in Virtual Box. I'll try non linux, non windows os's in there only nowadays. I still have to figure out why my XP virtual box just locked me out. I just have to reinstall it but I have really felt like getting around to it. Meh. I'm getting a laptop/notebook this wednesday with Win7. I guess that can be my Windows machine.

Yeah, I'm sure they are looking out at the bankruptcy lawyers circling Richmond and crying themselves to sleep every night.

Year of the Linux desktop anyone?

Rubbish... I'm still waiting around for some official ISO's for chromeOS or chromiumOS to circulate

Maybe he posted this while drunk? I hope so, because that's a bit embarrassing.

I wonder how Google's ChromeOS is coming along.

I'd say that microsoft is more worried about this than they already are worried about linux in general, mostly because it's being released by a company already deeply ingrained in the public awareness. But then, they're already worried deeply about linux, it is- and they acknowledge it to be- the single greatest threat to their dominance. More so than apple since OS X can only run on their hardware, which tends to run for about 800$ more than a computer with better specs that I could build with linux, which in its self is 100$ or so cheaper than one I could build with windows.

MS ought to be worried seeing this is going to be sold to paying customers.

This brings Linux more to common users who are used to buying a product with software already on it. Just like most every computer you buy today.
Public exposure to touch and feel working Linux systems and if people like it, they will sell themselves.
Most people are not GEEKY enough to download ISO's, install other OS and post furiously in the forums looking for solutions..
