I was just wondering if anyone here drinks loose leaf tea. I have never enjoyed tea from a teabag, but apparently loose leaf tea is much better. I just ordered some to see if I like it. If you do drink tea, what kind?

I drink loose leaf green tea - though I also plan to try black, white, and oolong. I don't like teabags; loose leaf taste far better in my opinion.

What about full leaf teabags, not like those you can get in a store? Ex:http://www.ashbytea.com/images/realiTEA.jpg

I haven't tried those; I have a teapot with a filter in, so I never saw the point in buying them. Though, I imagine the taste would be pretty similar (if not exactly the same as) loose leaf.

Theres a store in a downtown market dedicated to selling loose-leaf teas. My family buys from there all the time.

I drink either Lipton or Boh tea that comes in a tea bag. Don't want to accidentally swallow some leafs and get stuck in the middle of the throat.

It depends. Everyone got their own taste.
I drink bag tea of laziness :P

I like to drink loose leaf assam and darjeeling, and sometimes I put in dried a slice of dried orange peel along with it to enhance the flavour... sooo good!

You can still have it in a infuser (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_infuser)/strainer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tea_strainer) (that's what I do).

I mostly drink loose leaf tea, Most bag tea seem to start tasting like hay after some time of storage...

Loose leaf always. Sometimes add some cardamon seeds or other spices like clove.

Jasmine tea, loose leaf. I make it in an old Corningware electric percolator.

I drink loose sometimes, though convenience dictates that I generally just throw in a tea bag ;) Barrys Gold Blend (http://www.barrystea.ie/) :)

The "tea" in teabags is the dust & crumbs that's left over from handling/processing higher-quality loose-leaf tea. On top of that I do not like the taste of paper. :(

Loose-leaf is far superior in taste (at least the green teas that I drink) plus you can get several steepings out of the same leaves, so it is surprisingly economical.

The leaves sink to the bottom when they're ready, so there is very little chance you'll accidentally choke on one... but if you're concerned, you can strain/filter/infuse. :)

I usually use teabags, but I have some Irish Breakfast loose tea which is quite nice. In my experience, Irish Breakfast tea that comes in a teabag tastes like dishwater.

So you have tasted dishwater? ;)

(Knowing you, you probably have just so that you could honestly make that statement... :D)

I only drink loose leaf tea. The difference is noticeable, plus if you go to a specialty tea store, you get to smell all the nice kinds of the they have. Right now I have about 5 or 7 versions of green tea and one black tea, plus some roiboos and also others like mint and linden tea, but those two come in bags, and yeah, they aren't that swell.
