I have configured System --> Preferences --> ScreenSaver --> skyrockets.
It runs and looks fine in the preview. However, when it runs for real, it looks like someone is doing single-step, frame ... frame ... frame.
There is nothing running that I know of. I don't know how to look at what may be running because that disrupts the need for screensaver in the first place.
I know that I don't "need" a screensaver. I only run in when connected to the AC mains not when on battery power.
