Skype Issues

I turned on my laptop this morning, skype is/was set to run and sign me in automatically. I downloaded my morning upgrades, and had skype running in the background, I mistakenly forgot to close it out before authorizing the new upgrades. I was instructed to restart the system, and now my skype will not run at all. I even removed it and reinstalled in through the Ubuntu Software Center to no avail. Is there some way to fix this please? I run the beta 10.10 version

try launching skype from a terminal and see if you get an error there

try to enable logging for skype : http://developer.skype.com/SkypeGarage/LogFile

peek at your system logs too they are just general but you might get lucky : /var/log/syslog

one of those 3 options should at least give you something specific
