I am very new to this and am trying to install from firefox when i cannot find the software i want in package manager. everytime it does not let me no matter what it is. latest is ubuntu tweak for example says :

tmp/ubuntu-tweak_0.5.6-1_all-4.deb could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred.

Try saving to disk first and then opening the file.

when i do save it to disk and open it tells me to select software to open with in from the filessystem any help i could get would be appreciated thanks b4 i pull the trigger on myself thanks.](*,)

Click the deb file link you want and when prompted if you want to save or open it, choose the option to "Open" then click the "Browse" button and find /usr/bin/nautilus, then select the option "Do this automatically for files like this from now on".
