I would like to install ubuntu on a USB pen, but I have some problems.

1. My pc is an old compaq EVO D310 and it seems that it boots only form FAT16 formated USB pens.

2. I managed to install LiveCD on the USB pen and it runs OK( slow), but I'd like to have a "real" install on the usb.

3. when I try to install Ubuntu on the USB pen it doesn't let me choose FAT16 for the /boot partition.

Is it posible to have the /boot partition formated as FAT16?
Any other idea or solution?

I would like to know how to do this as well; tried before but gave up.

Please post the solution if you find it!

Many thanks!!!

Searching the internet, I think you can install grub2 to FAT16.
When you get to partitioning, try manual and make the boot partition FAT16.
