Favicon

When I am running Vista this website (Ubuntu Forums) Does not have a favicon on the favorites bar. Anyone know why.

I'm not familiar with IE8 or Vista too much, but you could see if your browser can open up the favicon with a direct link here:

http://ubuntuforums.org/favicon

It's a 16x16 png image (missing the .png extention) with transparency.

I have never had one on IE8 it showed up when I first added Ubuntu forums to my list and it was gone the next time I opened IE8 . I have upgraded to IE9 beta so I will check on my next Windows boot .

The link does open with a direct link, guess I just have to figure out how to get on favs.

Down load the fav, right click Ubuntu forums in favorites select properties > change icon > browse . Navigate to the location you saved the fav and open this will add your icon to the list . select the icon and click ok . Weather it will stay put or not , I don't know .

IE is rather picky about the use of favicons, and even with supported icon types has a tendency of not showing them.

Anyway, I've never been able to actually get IE to show a .png icon, it only seems to support .ico files for favicons.
