Hi, I have since several days a very slow filemanager. Nautilus.
It won;t open folders anymore, and the cpu usage goes to 100%.
i have installed thunar, which is superfast, but a lot of the things are integrated with nautilus.
So how do I get rid of Nautilus, but keep the panels, and all my settings, or how do I get my speed back. Sometimes it works as it should be, and the other times Nautilus just stops, won;t load the folder, and eventually you get the question from Metacity if you want to force quit or wait.
So does anyone know what is going on ?

Give us some more details. What and where does it give you trouble , is it an external hard drive or data partition or is it just the music folder in your home partition. System specs may be helpful as well.

Most of the time it is the folders in my Desktop folders.
The external drives seem to work fine.
On my destop I have a few folders for easy access. One of them is called Mypaints, About 1 gb, There is books. And StarTrek.
