i installed alternative ubuntu 64bt lucid lynx iso , than in my ways of not understanding installation process i typed next thing in configuration of installation system it asked me for some kind of adress or e-mail . not knowing that i have to choose server for updating system in next period i typed what he asked me.
installation process gave examples like user /password@ubuntu--blah-blah.....

thinking this should be appropriate. after few months using ubuntu. when i installed ubuntu it worked pefect, but when i try to update my system i cant receive packages because my http or e-mail or whatever does not exist. than i insert karmic coala 64bt alternative dvd iso after few days trying to make it work update manager i got pissed off and update my system from dvd almost everything. next thing , not knowing what happens i ****ed-up desktop environment probably installing gnome graphic interface. i now reached in gnu nano 2.2.2 to configure my desktop entry. can anybody send me configuration for gnu or tell me how to rethrive desktop environment for ubuntu. thanx
