Hi all,

I've been having an issue with Grub & Linux generic header package for a while. Every time I try and install something on the system I get a message with the linux-headers-generic package returning an error. I now can't get back to that error and provide more info as I removed the offending package from my Ubuntu install and now can't boot into Ubuntu.

Is there a way to reinstall grub and the linux core or repair it from a USB install?

Another thing I noted that every time I booted I got a file not found error message which would point to a grub issue.

I'd like to keep from having to do a fresh install as there was a lot of funny config on this system (yes I know I should have done a backup). However if I have to it's not the end of the world as this isn't my main machine.
I can get back into the file system as I'm using Ubuntu of a USB stick at the moment.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
Dan
