For those converting from Windows and looking for cross stitch application there is very good one KXStitch by Stephen P. Allewell - designed for KDE.

I installed (compiled) the latest version 0.8.1.4 on GNOME and I am very happy but only one nuisance: the image import preview does not work - no preview just a default icon. I was told that it is due to differences between KDE and GNOME in KDE the 'KFileDialog' functions.

Is there an easy (half easy, quarter easy) way to fiddle with the source code for the preview to work in GNOME?

I have rather basic knowledge of C and even less of C++. Would someone give me a hint where to look for changes or what is involved?

I am not very keen to switch to KDE as I would need to abandon this nice forum :).

Thank you.
