Aspire One netbook with the netbook remix, 10.04....didn't like the clutter so's after some
reading, in synaptic manager I removed ubuntu-netbook and installed ubuntu-desktop,
appeared to remove/install fine...verified that ubuntu-desktop was indeed installed with
the synaptic manager, rebooted...now no desktop, can't even run a terminal...been
searching here about boot options, must be a way to boot to a terminal but can't find it,
was thinking Id run a "sudo apt-get ubuntu-desktop" and see if that fixes it...any suggestions? how do I boot to a terminal? TIA

ok, more reading....realized I was missing the all important install command...
didn't work to get the desktop environment, but I was able to reinstall the
UNR clutter...can someone delete this evidence of my stupidity? thanks

great forum btw...

hmmmm, guess the desktop environment DID install on my first effort,
just had to select it as the GUI for my login...all good now, frig I like this ubuntu
now if I could only get itunes working.....
