This one heats up my dual core cpu a lot like 95c
How about yours?

I think you need to check your cooling system.

agreed, 95C is far too hot for a CPU. Anyway, my CPU usage shot up to 100 percent and temp rose to 62C, dropped to 50 something just a minute after I closed it (got a great cooling system). Not that I'm surprised, wasting power is what microsoft is best at ;)

yeah, I ordered a new intel heat sink for this overclocked E6550 which I am running at around 3ghz. The old heat sink is borderline and usually the chip runs at 60 to 67c

Why not an aftermarket cooler? Intel isn't known for their heatsinks. (Well, maybe in a negative way) :p

That doesn't sound like a great cooling system tbh, unless you've overclocked the nuts out of an i7.

I love having two cores - just bumped the process to the one core, left the other one free. However, it couldn't render more than one fish properly :/. My PC should be able to handle that, so even if it is a test - they could have coded it waaaaaaaayyyyy better.

My overclocked tri-core runs at 19 degrees (!) idle and maxes out at 30-32 degrees. Those are better temps than normal though. Normally, a CPU should not go above 50 degrees.

OK, looks like I'm going to have to ask the obvious question. Are you trying the fish test using IE9? I installed the Beta just now, ran 20 fish on the test, and my CPU didn't exceed 30%, nor did my laptop cooling fans come on.

IE 9 / Firefox 4 Beta 5 will be GPU accelerated so CPU won't go rocket high on this test. Rest will.

By the way check out some interesting things IE9 is adding to Windows 7 "Experience" http://www.hanselman.com/blog/IE9SiteSpecificBrowsersAndAddingYourOwnJumpListIte msToPinnedTabs.aspx

Linux and OSX support is being worked on. Chrome 7 is working on it as well for all 3 platforms.

For me it's a mixed bag. Chrome is undoubtedly quicker on my Win7 machine, but at the expense of frequent Flash crashes. Firefox Beta is snappy, but won't save my fricken passwords. IE9 looks nice...maybe the best, but it's the slowest. So, I can go for speed with periodic Flash dumps; less speed w/o Flash dumps but at the expense of no saved usernames and passwords to frequented sites; or the least snappy of all, but with no Flash dumps and the ability to save usernames and passwords. In then end, all of them failed. lol.
