View Full Version : [ubuntu] Ubuntu-server (32-bit) installer can't find USB CD-ROM

I'm trying to load Ubuntu-Server 10.04 onto a Intel D945GSEJT. This board uses the Atom N270 (i.e.32-bit only, no x64) CPU. It does not take standard PATA drives (i.e. 40-pin with an external 4-pin power) and the enclosure has no room for a CD-ROM drive even if it did.

To load Ubuntu, I'm using what has been, up until now, my trusty LG DVD-ROM drive (Model: GDR-81638.) mounted inside a NexStar-2 USB enclosure. I've used this same drive to load Linux onto my 2 netbooks (EeePC 701, and Acer Aspire 1's Linpus). The D945GSEJT boots from it just fine.

When I try to install Ubuntu-Server (32-bit), it tells me "No common CD-ROM drive was detected". It then asks me if I want to load a CD-ROM driver from removable media.

Can anyone direct me to the appropriate CD-ROM driver that I can download onto removable media?
