View Full Version : [ubuntu] 9.10/10.04 Problem with partitioning. Likely a quick-fix.

I tried browsing some related threads, but to no immediate avail. Anyway, I'm installing 9.10/10.04 via usb drive. Everything was/is(?) working fine, but when I selected 'install side-by-side', dragged the partition bar to ~50 Gb, and resumed. Hours later, it was still 0%, so i decided to shut it off and try again. Now, at that screen, the partition can only consume the '/dev/sda2' partition and has a maximum of 9 Gb.

I have Windows on here, and I'd prefer to keep it that way, along with all my data. I messed around very slightly with the advanced method, but I didn't want to do anything I'd regret. How do I install Ubuntu without wiping Windows, yet maintaining a reasonable partition size. I understand 9 Gb may be enough to run it, but I'd like to allot it a bit more space; I recently got a Tb internal...why not?

Thank you in advance, Ubuntu community!
