Installing Ubuntu from VirtualBox?

Would it be a bad idea to instal Ubuntu Lucid Lynx from VirtualBox?
And would it slow down the installation alot?

Not possible. An operating system running in VirtualBox cannot "see" your physical hard drive, only its virtual drive.
