maintaining repo

hi,
I've a offline repo which is growing very large (more that 8GB) because of constant updates .

There are many duplicates, old versions, obsoletes etc.

I wan't to remove those and make the repo clean.

Any ideas.

Note:
I use apt-ftparchive to create Packages file):P
