View Full Version : [ubuntu] 10.04 upgrade stopped at /logrotate.d/mysql...

Performing upgrade to 10.04, upgrade stalled with 5 minutes to go during "installing new version of config file /etc/logrotate.d/mysql-server ...".
Before I do anything silly with the big red switch... is there any way of getting it to skip and finish... I can always get mysql up and running later (if there is a real problem).
Ideas welcome. Do not try to mail me because it will go through to broken machine: using spouse's Minimac to submit this.

And, by the way, stalling is about the worst thing an upgrade process can do. Error message, request input, offer to skip. anything but just stalling would be better, so this really should be a bug of some sort.

... checked the process list and it looks like "start mysql" is hanging... kill the process ???

killed the process and installation proceeded to completion. but problems with gnome and kde, probably not related. upgrade did not install kde and when i tried to install and run it, kde faield. looking elsewhere for resolution on that one.
