what do you think about the i3?

also, if i want to build my own desktop or laptop, and get an intel core with an integrated GPU, and then get a graphics card (with another gpu) will the cpu's gpu not be used?

If you are going to get a dedicated Graphics Card, don't bother spending the extra money for any of the CPU/GPU combo procs. Save your money and maybe use it to buy a better proc.

Never used an i3. All the rage is about i7's. It depends what you are going to be doing with the computer: If you are the average Joe Shmoe who only really needs his computer for browsing the web/e-mail/basic stuff, a i3 is probably fine.
