hi using 10.04 grub will not load tried pressing escape and then it says the configuration defaults for gnome power management were not installed correctly see you admin leaves me at the graphical login prompt cannot log in as me or root. i can't get the cd to boot can't get usb to boot i am just stuck
ive got the terminal screen up using ctrl-alt-F1 but how i restore the system is beyond me

solved
it was the space issue I deleted downloads
rm -r Downloads
and rebooted and it worked fine, did a back up of documents. I'm now moving to 10.10
