My attemp to install the netbook version of Ubuntu via WUBI fails with the following:
09-11 23:01 DEBUG TaskList: ### Running check_iso...
09-11 23:01 DEBUG CommonBackend: Checking C:\ubuntu\install\ubuntu-10.04-netbook-i386.iso
09-11 23:01 DEBUG Distro: checking Ubuntu Netbook ISO C:\ubuntu\install\ubuntu-10.04-netbook-i386.iso
09-11 23:01 DEBUG Distro: wrong version: 10.04 != 10.04.1
...and the links on the WUBI guide pages to WUBI forums are all broken.
Obviiously, no one is paying attention to the WUBI installation software any longer. My next move is to download an earlier version that was less 'automatic' and permitted the specification of a previously downloaded ISO file instead of insisting that WUBI do the downloading itself.
This is particularly annoying because the WUBI site claims it is the most simple, error free method of trying Ubuntu. Obviously not... sigh...
