Today I decided I would upgrade my Hardy Heron. Of course the first thing I did was try the update manager. But when I loaded it it came up with an error
The error was:
Failed to fetch http://bertram.ifrance.com/dists/ubuntu/edgy/binary-lpia/Packages.gz 404 Not Found
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
So I thought "screw that I'll boot from a USB" but that idea failed (Don't ask why. I've exhausted all options for making this work)
Then I downloaded a torrent. Now I have a cd image but I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do with a cd image since I don't have a CD drive (I'm using a netbook)
Basically 1) what is wrong with my update manager and 2) what do I do with a cd image to install a new version of ubuntu if I don't have/cannot buy a cd drive
