Hi,

I have a problem since an update some weeks ago but I cannot remember which one, because I thought it would get fixed so I didn't revert back.

The display shakes very often depending on the type of window displayed and I think it has to do with the hardware driver (nvidia 185 restricted). Was there an update not long ago?

You can look at the problem there:

I had to record it with an external camera because using GTK-recordMyDesktop the recording is flawless.

As you can see sometimes it's almost unusable...

It has nothing to do with compiz or emerald or awn or any effect, because even with everything turned off I have the same problem.

Does anyone know how to fix it??
(I'm on ubuntu 9.10)

I just noticed in put 'upgrade' in the title of the post... I meant update!

Anyway, does anyone have a solution!!? that thing is bugging me a lot! I'm waiting for 10.10 to get out to get rid of it, except if some one posts a solution before ;)

If your machine likes 10.04, I would rather take this one than 10.10.

10.04 is getting stable, so now is the time to switch to 10.04, not away from it.

Youhou! I found my problem.
Never buy a Hyundai W240D flatscreen!
When it overheats it starts flickering badly horizontaly...
That's why I recorded nothing wrong when using GTK-recordMyDesktop ;)
I never thought it would have been the screen! reducing the brightness to 0 solves the problem since it doesn't heat up.

SO ubuntu 9.10, 10.04, 10.10 all work great as usual :)
