Ok so I just installed kubuntu and went ahead and installed flash 10 so I can watch yourtube videos but I found that the videos just play through as if on fast forward or something. All flash content seems rushed like this actually. I have searched and found other threads about this problem but they haven't helped me solve it. Most people seem to say it is caused by sound settings not being set properly but I can't find where to change my sound settings at all. I am using the kubuntu 10.10 beta distro, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: I also just found that when I play a video with vlc I am not getting any sound playback. Soundcard is a creative X-Fi xtreme music

UPDATE: After adjusting sound settings to change the preferred sound device I now have sound working for videos etc, but flash videos are still playing fast and for some reason the flash plugin disappeared from firefox but it is still installed o.O

FIXED: I found an addon called Flash-Aid for fire fox that fixed my problem. For anyone else having this problem you can find the addon at the following link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/161939/ (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/161939/)

Alright well I had it fixed, everything was working fine but now for some reason my flash plugin for firefox keeps randomly disappearing so when I go to youtube it tells me I need to install flash again and I can't get the plugin to come back. Why is flash such a problem for linux?

This ( http://www.shcherbyna.com/?p=866 )
works great with the new 64-bit flash plugin from adobe.
