Ubuntu minimal

I am trying to install Ubuntu with nothing on it, But when i use https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/MinimalCD it wants me to connect to the inernet. Will that download all the packages like openoffice.org or just the OS? also where can i download just the minimal OS so I can burn it on cd/dvd and not have to connect to internet?

No, it will be fetching the up-to-date kernel and base packages. No OpenOffice.org or any of the other GUI applications.
