Anybody else experiencing it? I was just experiencing it while logged in via Firefox, then fired up Chrome and logged out to see if everybody had it available, but it just seems to be available for some people.

I use Scroogle and to be honest it isn't worth switching back for this for me. It's quick enough. :p

What Google states about realtime search "Realtime Search lets you see up-to-the-second social updates, news articles and blog posts about hot topics around the world ."

I couldn't find the Google page for one that was shown in the youtube video you linked.

Does not work in Opera because Google is still Google (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9820846&postcount=20).

Why is Google always excluding Opera users for no reason?

Why is Google always excluding Opera users for no reason?
This is an interesting question.

If one gave Google's reason for excluding Opera, one would fail to answer the question (You would instead be answering "Why does Google always exclude Opera, with reason?").

If one did not give any reason, one would still fail to answer the question (Answering no question at all).

What a conundrum!

Google states that they have enabled it for a few domains only. Try logging in and then check if it is enabled. FAQs here

lol, definitely cool!
Still don't like google though. lol

in regards to opera browser~
Why is that so popular?

Everytime Ive used it, (never in Ubuntu, only when i had *******)
but whenever I used it, the images displayed in it were complete crap. all pixelated and funky.

No matter what i did, it wouldnt change, but every other browser displayed images perfectly.

guess it's cool if you dont need to see images of any kind. lol

Does not work in Opera because Google is still Google (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=9820846&postcount=20).

In fairness, I couldn't be bothered coding for Opera either. For some reason its Javascript engine trips over and dies on code that runs everywhere else, including IE6 and Firefox. I'm happy writing standard CSS / HTML to fit everyone's respective quirks, but Javascript should just bloody work.

The other thing with them is they tend away from incomplete specifications; they usually only support features once they are well established. It's kind of a stability over bleeding edge thing. CSS3, for example, isn't well established. Neither is (the majority of) html5. Of what is well established, Opera renders quite accurately.

That doesn't mean web sites shouldn't use them. The beautiful thing with our open web standards is they degrade gracefully. For example, a big feature in HTML5 is you can add arbitrary attributes with data-FOO (where FOO is whatever you want), and be promised that nothing will touch that namespace. It's completely backwards compatible, of course, but what's new in HTML5 is the guarantee that it does something. (Nothing, in this case).
If you look at a site with Opera, or old Firefox or IE6, it will still work perfectly. It just won't have all the bells and whistles you may be used to from shinier, more bleeding edge browsers. (And if you haven't used a shinier browser, you will neither notice nor care. When you find one, you'll be mighty pleased).

Consider: rounded corners. If I'm remembering right, it was first implemented in Firefox with -moz-border-radius, gradually trickled to other things. By the time everything supported them (except IE), lots of sites have adopted the feature. Webkit implemented nice CSS transition effects, but they are only newly supported in Firefox 4. Have you noticed them missing?

Google gets better and better all the time. They roll out new apps, services, features almost constantly. I say Google will be the big-hitters in the computer/online features for (at least) a couple of decades. And since they entered the OS market, in this "everyone's connected" world, I do worry (ha ha) that Microsoft will suffer.

Google is riding the internet so well, it can only become more popular. Let's just hope they remain kinda friendly to Linux in the future.

Hmmms never had that myself... Im sure theres a way of changing image quality in Opera though. Maybe by default its low for fast loads?

Opera mini is where its at. Best mobile broswer in the world bar none.
