I managed to order an old geforce 4 card for 2$ off of ebay, with an extra cooling fan included, and now my desktop's back and working better than ever! Well not exactly; the 'new' card's only got 64Mb of RAM, half of what my old one has, but it scrapes the minimum requirements for DDO and LOTRO and is the recommended card to play morrowind with. Copmiz effects are fine and snappy as usual, and I'm happy to say that I'm going to be using this computer as my media server for years to come. I probably could've found a better card, but there's not really much point as the new computer I'm getting in a week and a half has PCI express slots (old one only had agp).
By the way, anyone know when the entry level geforce 400 series cards are coming? I'm thinking of having dual GT 240s, but I'd really like to get something in the 400 series.
