I have a question. I have Ubuntu 10.4. Dell Latitude e5500.
I did install msttcorefonts. But result is strange.
I do compare here how the same font (Times New Roman) looks at the absolutely indentical settings in windows XP and in Ubuntu. Result - in Ubuntu it looks fuzzy and bad.

The question: what to do? I need to work with this font.

Windows XP: dpi 120, anti-aliasing in system - none, anti-aliasing in OpenOffice off, scale in OpenOffice 100 and 200 %, Times New Roman, font size 12

Ubuntu: dpi 120, anti-aliasing in OpenOffice off, scale in OpenOffice 100 and 200 %, Times New Roman, font size 12
I am changing anti-aliasing in system in System - Preferences - Appearance
