can any one help me please . would like to use the google (gmail) video chat option, how can i do it?

After you log into your gmail Web account, on the left side you will see Mail, Inbox, Chat, etc. You should see a list of your gmail Chat friends (or invite someone to be on your list). Hover your mouse over your friend's name. You will see a window open. Along the bottom of ;the little window is Email, Chat, Video and More. Click on Video and more. It will ask if you want to install video program. Select and download file. It will run automatically. When it is done, you need to close and exit your browser and restart it (you may need to log out of gmail and back in - not sure). Hover over your friend's name again and select Video and more.

I am running Ubuntu 9.04 and have audio both ways, but can only receive video. They can't see me.

malibusurfer2 you may try this it will not be set in stone so it will go away

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so put the name you need/like to use
