R statistical package

Dear community!

I have tried to install the R statistical package via Synaptic Package Manager. Everything went smoothly, but after the installation I can't find the program anywhere. Am I doing something wrong? Or haven't done something necessary?

R is a command line program by default - you can start it by typing R in a terminal.

Because it's command line, I think it won't turn up in any menus. There's a couple of gui front ends for R - I believe Rkward is one, and there's probably others.
