well i downloaded the amd image and burned it on a cd, and when i insert the cd and turn on the computer the installation doesnt start, i cant get past the loadin screen, and i dont know whats the problem, tried another cd and i dont know the reason its not workin
im tryin to install ubuntu on a computer with a asus M4A785td-M EVO motherboard, a AMD X2 3.0 GHz athlon processor with a nvidia geforce 210, i could really use the help right now

Does it work with the alternate installer?

You don't mention entering the BIOS and making the CD Drive the first boot? Have you done this?

Sounds very much like what I ran into.

Do you get to the splash-screen that says Ubuntu and displays five dots that change color from red to white? If so, you can press the ESC key to see what's going on under the covers.

My problem turned out to be a bad burn - Ubuntu is sensitive to quality of CD and burn-speed. I succeeded only after burning at 8x.
