hello friends

i installed ubuntu-server 10.04
internet is not working and nobody in this forum is helping me with its configuration.
can anyone please tell me whether i can download ubuntu-desktop for server on any other system and install it in my server from command prompt.

You can install the package ubuntu-desktop via,



sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop


That will give you the gui.

sir as i mentioned my internet is not working. how can i apt-get install as it looks in one of our repositories.

Sorry. Not sure about an offline install. If there are not a lot of settings, configurations and data involved, go for a re-install with Desktop Edition.
