View Full Version : [ubuntu] can't create a .srt subtitle file with Avidemux

September 3rd, 2010, 03:22 AM
I'm following this (http://www.my-guides.net/en/content/view/167/1/) guide to make a .srt file of a DVD rip I made but I can't do so in avidemux. I can successfully create the .idx and .sub files but when I attempt to create the .srt it closes up very quickly and opens the dialog of 'save glyph' but I never get to the ORC dialog. I end up with a .srt file with just the time codes and no text (subtitle).

Is it something I'm doing wrong (I'm following the guide step by step) or maybe some configuration issue, avidemux does crash often.

[EDIT]: I'm using Avidemux 2.5.3 on Ubuntu 10.04, 2.6.31-10-rt kernel (but the same happened on the generic kernel) on a AMD Athlon 2x64 dual core 6000+, 2 Gb RAM with the nvidia-glx-173 drivers installed for my nVidia 8400 GS graphics card.
