Yeah, I remember being scared to try out Ubuntu because the partitioning seemed difficult. :P

And partitioning is rather difficult as GParted crashes everytime it starts up!

Its about time they improved the installer.

Of all the things to better, I'm not sure this needed improving but I can't argue with the objective.

Two issues I noticed was the option to install codecs didn't seem to do actually install anything, even with a working internet connection and having to accept the machine being named for me seemed strange.

Other than that, it is pleasant and works well.

Generally I don't have problem installing and partitioning. If its an improvement so much the better especially for newbies.

haha been there done that. I remember installing kubuntu on a PIII machine with a 6 GB hard disk. cause I didn't need to partition it. :KS
